Meet Carrie

I’m a personal stylist and color expert based in San Diego, serving clients virtually worldwide. I’ve been in the fashion industry for the past 20 years working as a buyer, stylist and consultant in various corners of the world. My true passion is working with people to help bring their fashion personality to life. Putting together outfits, building out a wardrobe and fine tuning a client’s style is what brings me joy. I see fashion as a tool, and I love showing people how to use it.

Whether your body has changed after a baby, through perimenopause or menopause, or with weight that goes up and down, San Diego personal stylist Carrie Harkin helps you dress the body you have right now. She focuses on fabrics, cuts and silhouettes that flex as you change, so you aren’t keeping three closets in three sizes. You’ll know which pieces are worth investing in and which to keep budget-friendly for now.

  • Usually, yes. Your closet was built for the life you had, not the one you’re stepping into. Carrie Harkin works with women at turning points: a promotion into leadership, going back to the office, retirement, a move to a new city, or a fresh start after a divorce. She helps you get clear on who you want to be in this next chapter, then builds a wardrobe that fits it, so you show up feeling like yourself from day one.

  • Absolutely. Most of Carrie Harkin’s clients are busy professional women who don’t want to think about getting dressed every morning. She builds a streamlined wardrobe of pieces that all work together, so you can grab, go and still look polished. Easy doesn’t mean boring. It means every piece earns its place.

  • Never. Carrie Harkin’s closet edits are private and practical, not a makeover show. Carrie’s approach is warm, inviting and to the point. She’s there to help you get to where you want with your wardrobe. That means going through what you have in order to rebuild.

  • Yes, absolutley. That’s the whole beauty of working with a personal stylist. Carrie Harkin shops both virtually and in person for you. Once the shopping is complete you have a try on session with her. Most busy professional women want to leave the heavy lifting of shopping to a stylist and come home with a finished wardrobe, not a to-do list.

  • Yes. Carrie Harkin works with clients virtually anywhere in the world, in addition to in-person styling in San Diego and Orange County. Virtual sessions can include a closet review over video, online shopping through Carrie’s digital styling tool, COLOR Clarity™ color analysis and a personalized style guide. They’re perfect if you aren’t located in the San Diego/Orange County area.

  • Yes, email me directly at carrie@carrieharkin.com. A styling session is a meaningful gift for a woman going through a big change, like a new baby, a milestone birthday, a promotion or retirement. You can gift the Signature Package or Style Refresh if for a new client. If the gift is for an established client we can figure out the best fit for their needs from the established client services.

  • Once you’ve completed your first package, you become an established client, and Ă  la carte services open up. Many clients come back each season to update their wardrobe, or before a big event, a trip or a new role. Established Client Services include but aren’t limited to: Seasonal refresh, event styling, travel capsules, one off styling sessions.

  • Carrie Harkin works with new clients through two packages: the Signature Package and the Style Refresh ranging from $2,200-$5,000. Once you’re an established client, Ă  la carte services open up for seasonal updates, events and travel. A free consultation is the best place to start.
